One way in which music videos use language to differ from
each other is the use of lip-syncing. For example, the music video ‘Teenage
Dirtbag’ uses lots of lip-syncing because the singer is describing a story and
sip-syncing over the actors helps the reader to visualise this. However, in the
music video ‘Sk8ter boy’ the girl is just telling the story without having any actors
and lip-syncing because it is mostly directly about her. Therefore, music
videos use language like lip-syncing to differ from each other because some songs
don’t require or want someone acting out the lyrics.
